air purifier or humidifier for baby allergies
by: Lisa- site expert

Hi!
Well either an air purifier or humidifier might help your baby's allergies depending on why he/she has allergies.
In my opinion, an air purifier is best to help with allergies. It cleans the air and removes small particles which can cause allergies. A HEPA air purifier is best, many air purifiers have HEPA filters and any of those should work well enough.

I think humidifiers are better for babies when they are sick. The humidity helps open up their breathing airways and you can put medicine in some of the humidifiers (Vicks humidifiers have this) to help them breathe better too, though this is better for a temporary solution and an air purifier is better for long term use for easier breathing. Both can be used in the same room for maximum benefit if you prefer.

To your health (and your baby's),
Lisa
