purifier - off and on

by Steve
(Bangkok, Thailand)

Is turning your air cleaner (planning on a Honeywell) on and off a problem? My girlfriend has allergies but I don't - would rather prolong the life of the unit for her benefit, unless it poses a risk to the 'health' of the device.

Totally Fine

Hi!
It is a great idea to turn the air purifier off when it's not needed. Since you don't have allergies, when your girlfriend isn't around, turn the air purifier off and save energy, as well as prolonging the air filter life.
I do recommend turning the air purifier on a few hours before she arrives, to clean the air, so it's fresh when she visits. You can buy an appliance timer to set the purifier to turn on at a certain time of day, in case you are away before she arrives. Hope this helps!
