Need help on deciding what type of air purifier to purchase

(FL)

Where: living rm waulted ceiling w/loft - plan on putting it on the loft area which is open overlooking livingrm

Functions/Features: pet dander, subtle odors/cat litter odor. Also germicidle - eliminate possible germs, ecoli, etc - UV/C feature.

Trying to only purchase things I can use in RV fifth wheel (40 footer) when we start fulltime rving in 2013. Concerned about our health and maintaining good health for us and our pets (dog & cat).

My apartment was not painted prior to my moving in so I'm living amongst the previous tenants germs, illnesses, etc. We are in FL where there are constant woods burning in spring which makes it hard to breathe outside or inside. Alot of people get sick.

Also interested in cleaning the air in my car as well as being protected outside since there seems to be an out break of TB in certain areas.

thank you so much! Your site is awesome.

help deciding what air purifier to buy
by: Lisa- site expert

Hi Jean,
Here's my expert opinion on which air purifier to buy for your needs.

My two favorites are the Idylis air purifier and the Alen T300 air purifier. They both offer UV lights to kill germs, which was an important aspect of your buying requirements.

I would recommend the Alen T300 because it does clean up to 560 sq ft and the Idylis will be less. They both offer great features. You'll want to make sure you get the optional carbon filter because it will reduce odors in your house.

Both air purifiers will be helpful for reducing pet dander, mold spores, and germs in the air.

Since you live in Florida, I would also recommend a dehumidifier for times when you aren't using your AC as much to help reduce humidity. It'll help keep mold and germs from running rampant in your home and eventually in your RV. You can get a small-ish dehumidifier which will fit better in your RV.

Glad you are looking out for the health of you and your furry family members!

To your health,
Lisa
