Hunter Perma Life Microban Air Purifier Model # 30793

A few months ago I purchased a Hunter Perma Life Microban Air Purifier Model # 30793 and have been experiencing a smell disorder (a sweet smell) and was wondering if it my be from the air purifier? I purchased it basically for dust and pet dander. This paticular model has an ionizer button on it that can be turned on or off. I have been using it in the on position. This is very odd that I am having a smell disorder after purchasing and using this air purifier. I never had this smell disorder prior to purchasing this air purifier. I have been doing some investigating online and have found information that leads me to believe that some air purifiers produce ozone and this paticular model produces ozone also which can have health consequences. I am hoping that this hasn't jepordized me and my sense of smell cannot be reversed if this is possibly causing the sense of smell issue. Upon investigating and reading all this information online about the negative effect on health from these air purifiers, I am concerned and scared especially if my sense of smell cannot be reversed. Please advise.

Thank you,

Randy

Hi,
I would recommend turning off the ionizer. The ozone can produce a sweet type smell. I don't know if it's related to any smell issues you are having, but to be on the safe side you could turn it off and still use the air purifier.

This way you get the benefit of the hunter air purifier without any possible side effects of the ozone.

To your health!
Lisa
