Honeywell HFD-120-Q Air Purifier won't power on

I have a Honeywell HFD-120-Q Air Purifier. I bought it from Sears with no purchase of a warranty from Sears. It is a year and a half in age. I always clean my filters and let them dry before I put them back into the Purifier. It is still in warranty through the manufacturer but It would cost me too much to send it back. I would like to try to fix it on my own if I could. The main problem that it is having is that it will not power on. Can you make any suggestions? The manufacturer will send me a whole new one. I paid 145.71 for it, but shipping is a little over 100.00. I don't know what to do? Please help.
