Consumer Reviews. Consumers gave the Germ Guardian H3010 Digital Ultrasonic Humidifier with Clock the highest rating of any Germ Guardian humidifier on Amazon with four stars. There were only a few problems users had with this unit. There was a strange plastic smell someone reported. Someone else said it broke and Germ Guardian didn’t return their phone calls. Also, it probably won’t fit on a nightstand someone noted, as it is 8 lbs, though the picture makes it look smaller. I puts out a good bit of steam, so you wouldn’t want it on a nightstand next to your face anyway.

Most people loved the features of the unit. They like not having to change filters. The anti-microbial lining in the tank is helpful. Nice, heavy construction to the unit. Great that it doesn’t need refilling too often, just every 2-3 days. Also, many people loved how quiet it operates, virtually silent and that you can turn the display off for a dark room at night.

Expert Review. The list price on this unit is pretty high and I think too much for what this offers. I found it for about 30% off list and at this price, it seems like an okay unit. I like the timer, for setting when to turn it on and off, a unique feature. Being able to turn off the display is great. I have had to put tape over humidifier lights because so many are really bright, so the no light option is nice. It states the humidity level can be between 25%-90%, but in the user manual I couldn’t find info about it having a digital humidistat, or how to set the level of humidity you want. On this price model, I would expect a digital humidistat to control air humidity. It might have one, but they keep it a secret.

Overall, my opinion is that if you want all the functions and features it offers, it is worth the money. The ability to turn off the light, the clock, and to set what time the unit turns on and off, are the unique features to this unit. If you don’t want those features specifically, check out Air O Swiss units. Those offer some great units with better anti-bacterial technology and cool, warm mist option.
