contiguous rooms for one air purifier

can I use the total square foot of two adjoining rooms to estimate the size of the air purifier unit I need if the rooms can be closed off from the rest of the house. In other words can i use one unit for two rooms if they can be closed off from the other part of the house but are contiguous to each other or do I have to buy two separate units?

Hi!
Yes, you are correct. It would work fine to add up the sq ft of the two rooms and use one air purifier for both. No need to get two. It is recommended generally to get an air purifier that is rated to clean a little more sq ft than you need, so if you have 600 sq ft, get one that is rated for up to 750 or so.
