Alen Air Purifiers - Consumers and Experts Top Choice
Alen Air Purifiers offer top rated purification and quality. Read our consumer reviews and expert analysis of the A350, T300, A375, T100, and Paralda.
The Alen air purifiers offer many of the features I like in an air purifier. The units are compact. They offer HEPA filters for excellent air purification. Carbon filters for odor and smoke control. But, the filters are not permanent and need to be replaced every 6 months with continuous use. I also really like the sleek design of these air cleaners.
There is an ionizer on the units, which the company states does not produce ozone. This is good because some air purifiers do emit ozone and it can be irritating to the lungs.
Alen Air Purifiers was started by Peter Mann. He is an engineer and developed this line of purifiers to help his asthmatic son. It shines through that Alen strives to produce quality products. It was started because they care about clean, pure air for the health of their family. That helps me trust the integrity of the engineering, and the company. Especially, when it’s backed up with top ratings from expert product testers.
Alen offers many types of purifiers. Listed below are the most popular.
Alen T300 HEPA Tower Air Purifier
The Alen T300 offers a unique feature of a UV lamp for bacteria removal on the filter. Some filters can build up with the bacteria and germs which are removed from the air. The filters do a good job of trapping the particles, but some people want the extra purification of the UV lamp. I consider it a bonus feature on an already great product.
The Alen T300 air purifier, list price $299, has earned four stars with consumers. Overall they are very happy with the T300. They say it helps wonderfully with allergy and asthma symptoms. The air is noticeably cleaner. The down side is that the UV lamp is expensive to replace, and should last one year.
Alen A350 HEPA Air Purifier
The Alen A350, list price $399, offers the unique features of being wall mountable, having a filter that is 3 in 1 for easy replacement, and offering 4 speeds with a 12 hour timer. It cleans up to 800 sq ft. Consumers give the Alen A350 3 ½ stars. Many people love the unit and feel relief with use. There were a few low ratings because of defective units.
Alen Paralda HEPA Air Purifier
The Alen Paralda, list price $499, also offers a UV lamp to kill bacteria on the filter. The ionizer improves filtration performance, but does produce a small amount of ozone, which is not recommended for asthma sufferers. It purifies rooms up to 400 sq ft. It is very thin and only 15 lbs., making it a good choice if you need a portable unit.
There are only a few ratings for the Paralda from consumers. It gets top ratings from them. They love that it is slender, compact and energy star efficient. They say it works well and they notice a good difference in breathing quality.
Alen T100 Desktop Air Purifier
The Alen T100, list price $149, does have a HEPA filter, but is only rated to clean 84% of particles. The ionizer on the T100 can be on or off, which is helpful if you find you really like it, or if you find it irritates your lungs. It purifies up to 125 sq ft. It only weighs 8 lbs, so it is a lightweight little portable unit. It gets high ratings from consumers. They like the compact size, the inexpensive HEPA filter- $20, and find it purifies the air well.
