air purifier for Africian Gray Parrot's room

I have an African Gray parrot and am thinking of sanding and polyurethaning my wood floor. She is in a room upstairs from the wood floor. The fumes can be harmful but I was thinking of blocking off the air vents in her room with windows open and door shut. Would the Hepa air purifier take in and neutalize any fumes that may seep into the room or are the particle fumes too small?
