air purifier and humidifier for baby nursery room
by: Lisa- site expert

Hi!
Good idea to check to see if it's ok to run an air purifier and a humidifier in the baby's nursery. It is pretty common for those of us in dry climates to run the humidifier and air purifier at the same time, since both are so needed.

Just check every so often that the humidity from the humidifier in the room doesn't get above 55%, as level of humidity could lead to mold or bacteria build up on the air purifier filter. Actually, when the humidity is above 55% there can be mold growing on any number of things in your room, even the walls.

When the humidity is below 50%, then it should be just fine to run both the air purifier and humidifier in the nursery. The extra humidity in the air won't be enough to grow any mold on the filter because there will be so much air passing over the filter, it will dry itself out.

To check to make sure the nursery doesn't get over 55%, get a digital humidistat. They are easy to find on the internet. Especially check it after the humidifier has been running a lot, like in the morning, and before putting your baby to bed for the evening. The air in your baby's room should be great with the combination purifier and humidifier and he/she should sleep better with those running too, which is always the goal of a parent, get the baby to sleep well...

To your health,
Lisa
